Over-Engineering a Canine Crash Test
We discovered a critical soft spot: over 55% of truck owners have a dog, and two-thirds of buyers consider their pets when purchasing a new vehicle. Knowing that dogs are notoriously tough on their toys, we saw an opportunity to prove Toyota's durability in their living rooms. We partnered with an industrial design professor at Pratt to over-engineer a Tacoma-shaped dog toy that was as indestructible as the real thing. Weighing in at over a pound of ultra-durable material and featuring a built-in "peanut butter bed," the toy was rigorously tested against big, small, and ferocious dogs to ensure it lived up to the legendary Toyota reputation.

Winner - Cannes Lion, Bronze
Your dog wasn’t the only one obsessed. MotorTrend said “Your dog will love to chomp on this,” while Autoblog praised it as “a truck that you won't mind seeing chew marks on.” The work didn’t just earn great press either—it drove a +200% increase in social engagement, a +660% surge in leads, and reached over 100,000 people in our core target segment.
Next projects.
